Last year, we three (3) producers; Cathy Segal-Garcia, Jackie Gibson, and Gary Brumburgh created a highly successful musical event in fighting cancer.  JAZZ vs. Cancer, a musical fundraiser held at the prestigious Hollywood jazz club Catalina Bar & Grill in Hollywood, was deemed a “triumph deluxe,” as 25 singers and musicians from our prominent Los Angeles jazz community gathered together and helped raise thousands of dollars for the weSPARK Cancer Center in Sherman Oaks.

Because the third-party event was judged such a great financial and critical success, we have been asked by other members of our “Jazz family” to create a second fundraiser.

Adding to the Producers circle is drummer Jack LeCompte, a beloved member of this jazz community, who had support from City of Hope Cancer Center in the last few years.

This year’s “Round 2” event will benefit City of Hope, a world leader in the research and treatment of cancer and other serious diseases.  Specifically, City of Hope’s Comprehensive Cancer Center has provided expert care and delivered powerful, life-saving treatments to so many since 1913.

Our ‘JAZZ vs. Cancer - Round 2’ benefit for the City of Hope will take place from the late afternoon into the evening, on Sunday August 27, 2017, beginning at 4:30 p.m.  It will feature Grammy-nominated jazz vocalist Tierney Sutton, plus a host of top jazz musicians and vocalists from our Los Angeles area.  This event allows members of our L.A. jazz/music community who are present or former patients of City of Hope the opportunity to give back to an organization there for them and their families.

We are currently looking for sponsors who would be willing to help us reach our monetary goals, and hope we are coming to you with enough time to allow you the opportunity of being a sponsor and spreading the good word about our event.
